Choosing the best photographer for you

If you’re in the market looking for a new photographer or maybe you have never even had one before, check out this list to make sure that the person you choose is right for you and your family! Surprise, it might not be me! Finding a photographer that fits you needs a few levels of consideration:

Step 1: Match Your Style

Just like picking an outfit that feels like "you," your photographer should vibe with your style. Check out portfolios to see if their work aligns with your vision. I specialize in candid family chaos and capturing those fleeting newborn moments. My photos are lifestyle photos, which means that I will be posing you and your family, but nothing will be stiff or contrived. My sessions run around how the kids are feeling and what they are wanting to do, so we are constantly pivoting during our sessions to keep the kids happy and having a good time.

Step 2: Personality Matters

Think of it like meeting a new friend—you want someone who gets your vibe. I’ve got a knack for connecting with kiddos and blending into your world seamlessly, but maybe that isn’t what your kids need. Maybe they need a photographer that is more calm and won’t be as excited as me. I definitely give Golden Retriever energy, so if that’s not your thing, that might be important to know.

Step 3: Check the Reviews

Testimonials can tell you a lot about what other people’s experience was in working with that photographer! Make sure they have raving reviews and that they hi-light the areas you are concerned about!

Step 4: Trust Your Gut

Sometimes, it’s all about that feeling in your gut. If something about my approach feels right, it might just be a sign we’re meant to create some awesome memories together. If you like my work, but it doesn’t fit just right, let me know and I can direct you to some other amazing photographers in the area!

Whether it’s me or another talented snapper, here’s to capturing your story just the way you want it!
